Ulises Wensell has a world-wide reputation for his children’s book illustrations. Among other awards, he received the national illustration prize in Spain and the Critique prize in Bologna. For Bayard Jeunesse, he contributed to Le Grand livre des sorcières, Le Grand livre du loup, and Le Grand livre des dragons. He also illustrated Le Chat botté et autres contes de toujours, and, in the Les Belles Histoires series, Souriceau veut apprendre à lire, Le petit monsieur tout seul, Le petit Chaperon Rouge and Hänsel et Gretel. He died in 2011.
