One day, the cat invites the miller to bathe in a river and steals his clothes. He immediately runs to the king for help and asks him to give some fine new clothes for his master. Then the cat visits the ogre of the region and coaxes him into demonstrating his powers. The ogre turns himself into several different animals. When at last he persuades him to transform into a mouse, the cat gobbles him up and takes possession of the castle… which he gives to the Marquis of Carabas!
